Her ‘Tropical Wonderland’ and ‘Animal Kingdom’ series are full of beautiful and intricately detailed line drawings of exotic plants and creatures waiting to be brought to life with a splash of colour. Each page is black and white, with some inviting you to embellish the illustrations with your own drawings and doodles.
Millie works as a freelance Illustrator from her studio by the sea in a little corner of West Wales. Growing up on a small holding in the middle of nowhere she developed a mild obsession with all things flora and fauna, which along with intricate pattern and detail remains an ongoing theme to her work. She works using both traditional and digital media and she enjoys working on a diverse range of projects which include editorial, advertising, merchandising, design for web, textiles and bespoke original works.
Excitingly, the ‘Animal Kingdom’ series is now available in the form of postcards. The new designs are printed onto loose postcards rather than being bound into book form, which means they can be framed or sent to friends and family without one side being torn from your book. They come in a beautiful, sturdy hard backed box with 50 fabulous designs for you to enjoy. The box is even small and lightweight enough for you to take them everywhere!
For colouring detailed illustrations such as these we recommend using sharp colouring pencils or fine liner colouring pens to enable you to stay in the lines. Staedtler fineliners pair particularly well as they come in a range of vibrant colours that won’t bleed and allow for accurate detail.
